Make Your Own Chunky Knit Blanket

I’ve seen these big beautiful chunky arm knit blankets ALL over the planet and I *finally* got around to making one for myself! Let me start by saying that the ONLY difficult thing about this is finding a super chunky yarn with which to make the actual blanket.

I saw a couple of posts (like my friend Aniko’s) that mentioned Couture Jazz chunky yarn; I was able to grab some black on sale at JoAnns and then an ivory was somewhat affordable on Amazon (affiliate links). Note that this isn’t a cheap project, but… it’s a fraction of the cost that the store bought version would cost.

Unfortunately, the only way you can really see how I did it is to watch the video. #sorrynotsorry (While you’re over there in YouTube land, I’d love you to subscribe to my channel!)

What I can tell you is this… it’s really easy… it’s really satisfying… it LEGIT took me under an hour to make an entire dang blanket!

That’s all I got. That yarn comes in lots of fun colors so search around on Amazon… there are TONS of other styles too… I’ve rounded up a bunch and will include them below.

  1. Will you MAKE them? Sell them? Then WE buy them? I no longer have the desire to make the sausage, I just buy it?

    1. I’d happily help, but check out etsy first! There are probably some over there that are frankly the same cost as what I would charge and probably better because the artisan has been doing it longer!
