January means organization, right, so it’s only fitting that my first post of the year be about wrangling my girls’ dress ups! As you can imagine… with five children, we’ve accumulated a TON of dress ups and they were bursting at the seams. I had one old dress up dresser and then we’ve overflowed into two large hampers… And then, we added princess shoes and purses and makeup, etc. for Christmas. It was time.
You all know my affinity for all things rope-related. Whether a macrame wall hanging or a rope embellished bench… I love the added detail of an inexpensive cotton rope. I actually got the idea for this storage container from Homegoods. They had a similar rope storage container that cost more than I wanted to spend, so I figured I make up my own and customize it to suit my space a bit better!

(Full supply list at the end of this post!) My old canisters were beat up and ugly so I was on the hunt for new bright white ones! After a few weeks, I hadn’t found anything but I DID find these:
Today’s post will NOT be the prettiest you’ve seen on the blog (thank you, dated green floor tile), but… this space definitely deserves a medal of honor! Thanks to Brenna for rallying an organizational army, we’re all sharing some of the secrets behind our more organized spaces around our homes, so settle in for some tidy rooms!
When our old kitchen island came down, so did the wee sized fridge. That now lives in our garage as Mark’s pride and joy beer fridge and we have this gigantor in a new location in the kitchen. I’m not going to lie, this refrigerator was a major purchase for us… but your stove and your refrigerator are the kitchen work horses so if you’re going to spend the cash, these are the places. And it’s already made this big family’s life SO much easier. I’m officially a housewife in love with her new appliance.
