Sometimes great ideas come from… shopping. That was the case with this fun leather ottoman! I noticed those two leather table runners and… a couple hours later, I had a new rugged pouf for our family room! This will work with any runner, but the leather is the perfect texture for this!
When I started getting ready for my spring house tour, I headed into Homegoods as any good DIYer would do… I was looking for small things to brighten up the space. Accessories. Planters. Throw pillows. I found a few things for the first two categories but no great throw pillows. Boo. But have no fear… have I got a hack for you! Wanna know what’s the same size as a lumbar pillow? Dishtowels!
Half way point for the One Room Challenge! This is the point where my “only two projects to go” could get dicey from a time-management point of view…yikes. Here’s my design plan and I still have to upholster the chairs I mentioned in Week 2…. remember the beauties with disintegrating foam? But today… I thought I’d share my new curtains! After a few pathetic attempts at curtains in our old house, I’ve finally cracked the code. I made these lined ones for our old dining room, and then these gorgeous fuchsia ones for Eleanor’s room.
This sweet monogrammed letter pillow is one of my FAVORITES. Partly because I can *barely* sew so this is a big time victory and partly because… I pretty much like anything that involves letters or words in design. I’m a firm believer in the power of a good window treatment. It softens the space AND keeps the neighbors from getting an eye full… win-win. For our <a title=”Study Break” href=”https://atcharlotteshouse.com/2014/05/01/study-break/” target=”_blank”>Home Office makeover</a>, I was originally going to sew another set of <a title=”Fabracadabra Curtains” href=”https://atcharlotteshouse.com/2014/04/22/fabracadabra-curtains/” target=”_blank”>lined curtains</a>, but…. once the <a title=”Building In Some Billies” href=”https://atcharlotteshouse.com/2014/05/15/building-billies/” target=”_blank”>built ins </a>and <a title=”Cursing and the Cork Wall” href=”https://atcharlotteshouse.com/2014/05/13/lets-talk-cork/” target=”_blank”>cork wall disaster</a> were in place… I thought curtains would be too much. Time for Roman Shades 2.0.
