Sunday Seven with Rain On A Tin Roof

Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosureĀ here.

The older I get, the more I appreciate folks who walk to the beat of their own drum and chart their own path. As a parent I try to raise my children to have their own inner-compass and sense of self. In the blogging world, it can be just as challenging to stick to your guns. Amongst a sea of shiplap and Ā Mid Century Modern, finding a uniqueĀ design voice is easier said than done! Unless you’re my friend, Jenna. Ever thought about painting the walls in your house black? She has. What about carpeting a wall? Yep. Did it. To meet Jenna in person is to appreciate her vision and her design confidence. She is funny. She is clever. She calls it like she sees it. My type of people. Jenna’s mantra is to fly your freak flag and I love her. It is my pleasure to share my friend Jenna and her incredible blog, Rain On a Tin Roof with you today!

Question 1: Why did you start blogging?

Interior design had always been my passion. When I quit my teaching job, I needed something to earn money and it seemed that with blogging, I might be able to roll my passion and making money into one.

Question 3: What is the hardest thing about blogging?

For me, it’s balancing everything that goes into blogging (social media, posts, photos, projects, etc.) along with balancing your family and mental health! haha! I’ve just had to accept that there will never be enough time in the day to get all the work done that I want to get done. Sometimes, I just have to say screw it and have a beer.

One day I hope to put my feet up on Jenna’s zebra carpet and dig into her bar cart with her. I have a sneaky suspicion that some fun would be had! I love her fearless approach to decor. Watching someone who loves to take chances as much as Jenna makes me do a little happy dance. Follow her on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook and dust off your freak flag.
