Thanksgiving Table Decor 2015
Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosure here.
Folks, my tablescape game is on fleek this year! (If you don’t know what that means, ask a 12 year-old. They’ll tell you I’m not using the word right. Which makes me chuckle, because I kind of aspire to be one of those ‘old folks’ who thinks they’re super cool… case in point: You can’t take me anywhere–>)
I had a vague idea for this table that involved artificial floral garlands I grabbed on-sale at Homegoods (similar to this affiliate link from Amazon), grocery store produce/ flowers and succulents gathered from around the house.
Shop my favorites!
First step is the linens… I layered an Ikea tablecloth I just picked up (I couldn’t find it on the website, but it’s similar to this one) with a runner I’ve had on hand for ages.
Next, I started playing around with the greenery. I had the artificial wildflower garland and then placed the succulents sporadically amongst it.
The centerpiece needed some height. Not so much height to obscure the site line across the table, but enough to be interesting. I propped up the smaller wooden bowl onto this amazing brass goblet I found at Goodwill last year.
I always look to the grocery store first for flowers and produce. For this tablescape I picked up dragon fruit (!), pomegranates, artichokes, brussels sprouts, limes and flowers.
Once these were scattered around, time for candles. Candles, candles, candles! I’m using a combination of LED candles similar to these (affiliate) and this AMAZING pair of glass candleabras from my latest obsession, the estate sale site called Everything But the House.
We don’t bust it out often enough, but I’m still crazy for our formal china. The brass chargers were another Goodwill gift from the thrifting universe.
The napkin rings are Ikea (sorry, they’re not on the website)… they came in two other colors and are so great. Silverware is ready on the newly marbled sidetable, and wine is ready to be opened on the wooden crate rolling cart.
Ok… enough with the chit chat. If you’re anything like me when I read a blog, I just want to see the pictures. So, here they are!
If this got you in the mood for Thanksgiving, then today’s you’re lucky day! Head on over to these amazing ladies to see what holiday decor they have to show off!

Gorgeous. I love the use of artichokes and pomegranates!
Hi Pat! How are you? And thanks… we had artichokes in our flower arrangements at our wedding reception. I’ve always loved them. 🙂
Awww, lovely. I think that would look incredible on a wedding table. As for me, I am still in awe over how you get so much done with all those kids. Millie is a real doll, but she does require a lot of my attention. I get nothing blogged.
What time is dinner?
You’re making the critical flaw in logic that a lovely table equates to an edible dinner. 🙂 We might be looking at grilled cheese. Or cereal. xx
Have the same plates….love!
You do?! Great minds!!! I gather one of the french presidents had the same set? Dunno… I love them!
Love love love! The brass goblet and chargers might go missing the next time I’m there;)
They’re heavy. Be warned. 🙂
Charlotte your table is so festive and beautiful. I love the combination of fruits, artichokes, that crazy awesome dragon fruit (never saw one before and I’m in love…have to find one) and how you elevated your wooden bowl using the brass goblet as a pedestal. So clever. I’m all about a centerpiece that doesn’t have to be moved when everyone sits down so the whole sight line thing – I’m with you! Thanks for all these pretty ideas!
Thanks, Lisa! I have no idea what to do with the dragonfruit after Thanksgiving… but it was too cool to pass up at the grocery store. 🙂 And fingers crossed this centerpiece is an OK height…. or else yeah, it’s coming down. So far, it seems ok! xx
Look at you! You’re like a regular Martha Stewart! (did ya catch that little joke?) It looks beautiful, Charlotte. And I am happy to see that you did not forget the wine. Wine is key to a successful Thanksgiving in my house! The artichokes are such a nice decorating touch. I’ll have to remember that one!
Ha! I wish! A long way to go before my bank account looks like hers… 🙂 We had artichokes in our wedding floral arrangements too! Love them! xx
Three things:
1. Beautiful as always
2. China Pattern please?
3. Love the stacks crates! That project was before I found the blog so I linked over. I have two crates that were my Grandfathers (egg and milk man in Detroit who died long before I was born) that I’ve always wanted a way to really use…think I just found it.
Thanks! Happy Turkey Day
Hi Bridget! 1. Thanks! 🙂 2. It’s called Constance by Bernardaud. We got it from Bloomingdales 8+ years ago when we got married. 3. Thanks! I’m sure that tutorial is a C+ because it was in the early days of this blog, but feel free to ask questions if need be! We used to have all our drinks in this little ‘shelf’ at the old house! Happy Tgiving to you too!
Charlotte what a stunning floral arrangement and Thanksgiving tablescape! I love how you mix and match artificial flowers with real to complete your design! I’m so loving gold right now and those chargers are beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving! XOXO, Sarah
Sarah, I read this on my phone and could have SWORN I responded… So sorry! Thanks, friend! I LOVE the pop of gold and was thrilled to find such sweet garlands at Homegoods… one less thing to worry about keeping alive. 😉 xx
