Until this house with our fixed up formal dining room… I NEVER talked about a “tablescape”. Now… I regularly channel my inner Eddie Ross and I LOVE it. Here’s my tablescape disclaimer… I’m a maximalist. I love mixing and matching and bringing in lots of plants. And this Easter table is NO exception. I started with the color scheme from the rest of the spring tour (corals and greeny aqua) and then I kept adding layers.
Spring may not be outside here in Connecticut, but it has sprung in the Smith house! I’m putting finishing touches on my spring table scape and resisting the urge to spend every waking minute in our fresh and dreamy new playroom. One of my favorite little DIYs from the spring table is these marbled Easter egg place card holders (say that 10 times fast!).
I haven’t been very subtle about my shock and awe that I’ve managed to decorate ON TIME for a holiday! You’ve seen some sneak peeks on social media and snapchat, but today I get to share some of MY favorite shots from the Home Depot Harvest Style Challenge! The way the style challenge works, is I get sent a few surprise items to start my decorating. I opened these live on Facebook and LOVED what a springboard they were for the whole scheme.
The barn party reveal is here! Back in April, we offered to host a summer party for parents at our kids preschool as a way to make a little money at the spring auction. At the time, I figured we’d have a barbecue going and would keep it nice and casual. Until I started talking to my friends over at Luna Bazaar and the idea of a barn party was hatched! Our barn has been in the throws of construction for MONTHS but it was in the perfect rustic condition to host a party last weekend!
