With five kids, we have *stuff* coming out our ears! I give myself a C+ when it comes to organizing and declutter… there’s DEFinitely room for improvement, but I am pretty good and creating systems that the kids can basically follow and, when it comes to organizing for a whole family, that’s a HUGE part of the challenge. Don’t get me wrong… open up a hallway closet and there’s no telling what you might find, but nine times out of ten, there’s a place for every ‘thing.’
What we don’t have is the final floor treatment. I’m saving that for next week. So for today… I thought I’d focus my attention on the little area outside this bathroom. Our guest room doesn’t have a closet, so this area is a dressing area/ closet all wrapped into one. I had a rolling rack there, but it wasn’t anything special… I wanted to possibly hanging something to free up the floor space, but the corner wasn’t quite right for hanging. After poking around Pinterest for some other DIY garment racks, I pulled little details from lots of the ones I saw, and came up with my own design!
With school back in session, the paperwork is flowing into our house like one of those chocolate fountains. I do my best to file it away as needed, but… there are always a few pieces of paper that need to be front and center and that’s where my trusty cork board comes in handy. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite cork board hacks with you… It will cost you $5 max, and quite possible $0 if you happen to have scrap fabric and thumbtacks kicking around!

For others, it’s a jarring return to reality after a summer of adventure and fun. And for still others, it means finding a new routine for getting out the door on time and the organizational hurdles that come with homework and school projects and extracurricular activities. Today I’m sharing 7 of my favorite back to school organization tips and a SOURCE LIST of my favorite organizational products.
