Coffee Table Turned Nylon Bench
Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosureĀ here.
I’m gonna tease you with this post. Sorry, but those are the rules! Ā I’m so excited to be writing for eHow, and I wanted to share my debut project over there! You’ll have to click over for the full tutorial about this bench, but I can whet your whistle here first. Nasty. I know…
I found this coffee table on Craigslist. It’s perfect because it has a removable top and an apron to support my woven seat.

You could make this with any type or rope or nylon cord, but I LOVE this giant ropeĀ I dug up on Amazon. (Affiliate.)
As always, I couldn’t make up my mind so I used two colors of rope. I also ended up ordering more than I originally thought I needed after I wove the seat the first time. I think in this situation, more is more.
The one tool that I think you’ll need for this is a pneumatic nailer… if you don’t have a compressor, I’d opt for smaller rope!
So head on over to eHow to see how you too can turn a ratty ol’ coffee table into a chic and modern woven bench! We’re fans over here!
I am doing this! I picked up a free coffee table this week – the top was ruined so I removed & discarded it; but the base was great. I knew one day inspiration would hit and I’d figure out a new top! Any chance you could send me photos of the underside of this so I can see how you tied it off? Love it!!!!
Love it! The colors are great… not to mention the cute basket above š
This is so cool! How fun!
