Every year on Christmas morning, we all gather in the living room and inevitable, a few of us are sitting on the floor because we only have so many couches and chairs. But NOT THIS YEAR! I’m partnering with Arrow Fastener and DIYd myself a pair of adorable cozy upholstered Christmas present ottomans! Took one afternoon and is a basic BASIC upholstery project… you can do this!
I’ve worked with resin on other projects and each time I feel a little more comfortable with all the ways to use it! For this ornament, adding color to the epoxy was my experiment. I ultimately made two different styles of epoxy ornaments so stay tuned for how I made both the softer watercolor looking ornament and the brighter more vivid marbled ornament.
If there’s one thing I have in abundance, it’s scrap wood. Last year I made these cute mudcloth ornaments with scrap wood, and this year I’m making colorful little houses. Keep in mind that my drawing skills for these are those of a 15 year-old so someone with a little more time on their hands could easily make each of these houses mini works of art with window boxes and vines crawling up the sides and more!
