Years ago in our old house I made a fun little reading corner for the kids, but it didn’t make the move very easily so away it went. Last week, I had the MOST fun making another one for Oliver’s room and this one is truly one of my favorite builds to date!
Last week I shared a video of Arthur standing on a chair in front of our sink playing in the running water. A follower suggested I look into a toy sink that has running water at Walmart. That sink wasn’t available and when I looked it up on Amazon, the reviews were all pretty poor because of cheap construction and a water pump that breaks easily. So… I made my own! (Materials list at the end of the post.)
Sometime in December, I shared all the various layered rugs we have in our house on Insta Stories and you guys loved it so much, I wanted to put it into an official blog post! I layer rugs a LOT in our house, and for different reasons. I figured I could walk you through each room to give you a sense of why I’ve layering in each space!
Boots. They were everywhere and taking over my mini-mudroom. At some point, each child has ended up with a pair of rain boots and a pair of snow boots. I LOVE the storage bench I made but two pairs of boots don’t exactly fit in each drawer so they were just scattered around taking up space and cluttering the little bit of room we have in there.
With five kids, we have *stuff* coming out our ears! I give myself a C+ when it comes to organizing and declutter… there’s DEFinitely room for improvement, but I am pretty good and creating systems that the kids can basically follow and, when it comes to organizing for a whole family, that’s a HUGE part of the challenge. Don’t get me wrong… open up a hallway closet and there’s no telling what you might find, but nine times out of ten, there’s a place for every ‘thing.’
