12 Outdoor Spaces to Love
Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosure here.
Today’s the first Wednesday of the month which means… Housewives!! If only I could share some real deal Bravo housewives, but alas we Blogger Housewives will have to do! This month, we’re all sharing our favorite outdoor spaces and transformations and trust me… you’re going to want to take notes. From gardens to porches to picnic tables… there is so much outdoor inspiration! I’m sharing our back porch.
Back Porch Makeover
It’s been raining for ages here in Connecticut, but I dusted everything off a few weeks ago and cannot WAIT to sit out there and enjoy the warm days. It’s the perfect perch for watching the kids out in the yard, and now that the dining room is MINUTES away from being finished, I plan to open the double doors leading onto the porch all the time!

I took a few mismatched pieces picked up at consignment stores, Craigslist and the ReStore and pulled them together with paint and upholstery.
We already had an outdoor rug, but honestly? I’m not sure I’ll bring it out again this year. The porch is a light enough color and the rug just gets dirty and wet when the weather blows in.
This season, I’d love to build a table/ cover for Frank’s crate which is on the other end of the porch (not pictured, natch)… he loves his little space out there, but it’s not very pretty to look at.
Finally, I have a hanging rattan chair in storage that I’m DYING to install, but not sure it’s quite right for out here… do any of you have one of these? Can I really trust it to work with everyone, or should I keep it to the lighter members of the family?
While I ponder pressing questions like that, take some time to cruise around my fellow DIY Housewives! Now, more than ever, I can’t wait to put some attention into our other outdoor space… the patio. Stay tuned!!
