Jeans and Lightweight Jacket
I picked up a pair of my favorite name brand designer jeans and have basically been wearing them ever since. They’re stretchy and high wasted enough to cover what a 43-year old needs covered and they have a slight distressed detail on the ankle. I paired them with cute low ankle booties, a cozy camouflage sweater and that shiny olive green anorak. It has a soft jersey lining so it’s plenty warm when it gets chilly… in other words, the ideal weight for early fall in Connecticut! Can we talk about those aviator glasses? Look carefully… they’re an amazing jewel tone purple.
Sweaters and scarves
Another item I love for fall is a cozy sweater long enough to pair with jeans or leggings. This gray mock turtleneck was super affordable and matches everything. Finding a 100% cotton soft t-shirt seems harder and harder. When I spied this beauty, I grabbed it and wear it under any and all fall sweaters. It’s perfect layered or on its own.
Cape and Earrings
Last but not least, it wouldn’t be a cute fall outfit without a cape! I’m a sucker for a cape because they’re so versatile. Thrown over a sweater, it’s chic for any fall outing. It can fit over a lightweight fall jacket to provide a bit of extra warmth. Or, as I often to, it’s an easy layer to grab when walking out to the mailbox or dropping the kids off at school.
Did you think I would come away from T.J. Maxx without some accessories? Of course not… these designer earrings are right up my alley and my sister in law has already texted me twice to ask about them! See that, folks! #ontrend
To say that my choices for these fall outfits were abundant would be an understatement. There was a camo vest that still appears in my dreams. A pair of kelly green tassel earrings… a PINK wool coat… yeah. So. Many. Choices.
