Best of Wooden DIY
Psssst… this post *might* contain affiliate links: see my disclosure here.
This weekend was busy with a capital B! And I *thought* I’d conquered it all when I hit publish on a post for Monday morning that… wasn’t supposed to be published until May 22. Yikes. If you were lucky enough to catch the 5 hour sneak peek… yay! If not… come back on May 22 to see our guest room reveal! Today I’m sharing an oldie but goodie… these wooden DIY faux metal planters. This will be the third season for these guys and they are in PERFECT shape. I had my eye on some that were actual metal but they were waaaaaaay out of my price range.
Thankfully Modern Masters makes a paint that has the EXACT patino of an aged iron. Our front porch doesn’t have any railings so these two large planters are a nice way to delineate the space AND they’re fun to fill for the season.

Last spring I found some large hydrangeas and then finished the summer out with geraniums. They planters aren’t planted yet this year, but I’m hoping to find some good candidates this weekend!
Click HERE to see how they looked when I first set them up and click HERE for the plans. They’re REALLY simple to build. Really really.
