Rainbow Tablescape

There is zero reason for this colorful tablescape other than the fact that I had the best time mixing and matching and putting it all together and my friend Jewel had the genius idea to bring together her color-loving troops!! I’m joining forces with a gaggle of color-loving ladies to share all sorts of colorful ideas today and I’m so excited! One of my favorite blog posts was this rainbow glass wall I pulled together for our kitchen. Turns out, it was also one of the easiest blog posts since it involved thrifting some glassware and painting the rest! For this tablescape, I just took it all one step further!

I was able to gather lots of the items for this rainbow tablescape from around the house, but I also popped into some thrift stores, Ikea, Homegoods and the flea market to round out my collection. One plate here, a cup there… eventually I had an array of glorious rainbow glassware!

The glasses were far easier to come by than the plates so I decided just to display them in the middle of the tables as a centerpiece. We have a cute cutting garden up the road filled with zinnia (my fave) so I brought home a couple of bunches to scatter among the glasses.

Confession: taking photos of a tablescape have always been a source of frustration for me. In person, it’s easy to see the layers and the details, but on my camera it always feels too crowded or busy or full. BUT… something about this rainbow tablescape… works for me.

I love looking at all the glorious colors sitting together on one crisp white surface. In all honesty, it doesn’t take much skill because an array of colorful glassware looks lovely no matter how you arrange them. Case in point… it took my 80% of my photos before I noticed the two blue plates right next to each other. #fail

The only consideration I had was for balance… making sure the colors were spread out around the table and then alternating the light with the dark so everything felt equal.

  2. Charlotte, this is just so fun! I love your rainbow glasses and you’ve convinced me to start a collection too. I have a bed full of zinnias and I think i need to go trim some and line them up down my table! 🙂

  3. I’ll be over for dinner! Tell the kids to shove a bum, while I photograph everything for my own IG. LOVE IT ALL! That rainbow glassware tablescape is stunning, and definitely something I want to borrow for myself.

  4. I SERIOUSLY WANTED TO PIN EVERY ANGLE OF THIS CHARLOTTE. IT’S SO SO PRETTY. I CAN’T SET A TABLE FOR S-$-%-^. I’M INSPIRED AND IMPRESSED WITH YOUR MADE TABLESCAPING SKILLS…WHICH, SIDE NOTE, I STILL KIND OF HAVE A BIT OF AN AVERSION TO THAT WORD, BUT I’M TRYING TO SELF-REHABILITATE MYSELF BY REPEATING “TABLESCAPE” TO MYSELF AT LEAST 10X DAILY…AT LEAST TO MAKE IT THROUGH THANKSGIVING ?
