When I first saw our house, my first reaction was “immediately no.” Our beloved agent showed us a dozen more homes and suggested that *maybe* I take a second look at this house and consider ways I could add my special sauce to the space to make it more exciting. This tiny foyer was one of the first problems I wanted to solve.
I didn’t realize how much I wanted to paint the playroom until… I painted the playroom! These stripes give the space SUCH an unbelievably needed boost of fresh and clean energy and I LOVE it. I also love that the scuffed and drab walls are now doubly protected because I used a special scuff defense paint that should help with the fingerprints and ball marks that were *everywhere* down there.
HOLY SMOKES this space has been a long time coming together but all the little details and projects have been worth it because I walk in here every night and smile a big ol’ goofy grin! What used to be a big dated cavernous space now feels cozy and cohesive and so much more dynamic. Over the last few months I’ve done the following in here (full product list at the end of the post):
We’ve lived in three houses and exactly ZERO of them have had an official primary bathroom. In fact, one of my first big room makeovers was when I gave our bathroom in the last home we owned a major facelift. There was also the time I made over the kids bathroom for $60 and shared it with Rachel Ray. I love that kind of challenge!
