I wanted to find something to build that would be useful but would also take pocket holes to assemble. This lidded box for any mail or deliveries was a long time coming and the perfect excuse to try out my new Kreg Pocket Hole 720 Pro! For as long as I can remember, I’ve DIYed my holiday gifts. In college it was decoupaged picture frames. In my early twenties I got really carried away and hand embroidered flowered napkins and painted napkin rings. And more recently, it’s corralling the kids to make things like DIY ornaments or painted coffee mugs.

Our new bedroom is pretty much finished and I couldn’t be happier with it! Full reveal post coming soon but in short… I painted, swapped out some furniture and brought in a bunch of amazing fabric from Spoonflower. The curtains were already made as were the pillow cases and sheets, but the bedskirt was for me to figure out.

Our new house is a lot more interesting to decorate for the holidays than the rental, and this year I am excited to really gussy up the place for Christmas! I decorated for Christmas a tiny bit last year, but I feel like I’ll do a better job this year since I’m not also juggling unpacking and getting settled in a new home.
