I’ve posted a lot of Before and Afters, but this… THIS one might just take the cake. The power of paint, folks! For those of you who are new readers (hi!), we moved into our current house in April. It’s a historic home from the 1850s and we love it! That said, there are lots and LOTS of projects for us. Most of them are cosmetic, but there are also the fair share of larger ones that we’ll get to eventually! Sorry… back to the paint. THIS was how the room looked before.

You all will chuckle when you hear why I haven’t posted about this master bedroom sooner. (And after you’ve finished chuckling, you might google some sort of procrastinator support group.) This room has been done for a couple of months with the exception of one thing: the curtains were 5 inches too short. Five inches. Well, I conquered those five inches and am ready to share our neutral-ish sleeping quarters. One day I will spend time in here relaxing and reading and having an afternoon cup of tea… for now I’m there between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m.

A month ago, my friend Jen at Migonis Home emailed about a Spring House Tour she had planned. With 3 feet of snow outside and gray as faaaaaar as the eye could see, I decided it would be a fun chance to play ‘dress up’ with my dreary winter home! Until I started blogging, the concept of decorating for spring never occurred to me. But… that joyful ache for the flowers and the green grass and that smell in the morning when spring is so close you can taste it.. I always felt that. For me bringing that feeling into the house meant lots of flowers and greenery and sweet little accessories. Nothing complicated or intricate. Just color and textures and new LIFE!
