Last year I decked out our house for a Halloween photo shoot and one of my favorite set ups was the “Mad Science Lab”! I scurried around and found just about everything I needed for a super spooky science lab set up without getting anything too fancy.
I love figuring out ways to decorate for holidays without being too cliche or over the top. This year, I’m crazy about our Halloween foyer. I had some fun with a few of the classics like bats and a skeleton, but ultimately love that this space fits the elegant nature of room and doesn’t hit you over the head with “Halloween”!
I know it’s a running joke that as a DIYer we tend to make things that take 2x as long and cost 2x as much when we could just buy it. Guilty as charged. But, today I’m sharing a NO SEW mermaid costume. Truthfully I’m not sure it IS more expensive than buying one, but regardless… there’s something so fun about handmade Halloween costumes to me and I will always aim for the DIY if I can!
Fall is always a challenge for me decorating-wise. I LOVE the colors and scents and textures going on outside, but none of those things work so well for me INSIDE. Our home doesn’t have any rusts or reds or yellows, so this year… I decided to make fall decorating work for ME! Bring on the colorful embellished pumpkins!
