I decided to join a fun YouTube $5 Goodwill spring challenge tomorrow so today… you guys a sneak peek of the project! (I’ll add the video once it published tomorrow!) I grabbed this wooden salad bowl with the goal of adding color and greenery!
Whenever I’m doing CT Style, I try to bake in some time to hit the New Haven Ikea… last time I went in, I was elated to see these baskets that I love. They’re perfect planters, perfect storage or even a fun textured bowl if kept folded in half. I liked the plain straw, but I also loved the idea of jazzing these guys up a bit!

Gah! I’ve been radio silent on the master bath front, and I’m SO sorry! I’ve actually had much of the space done for a couple of weeks, and I’m waiting on ONE piece of art to photograph and share the reveal! Last time I gave you an update, I was talking about patching the subfloor, which meant I was ready for tile! Like any DIY, the preparation is 75% of the challenge. Tiling is no exception.
Today I’m talking subfloors. Super sexy, no? As part of our master bath update, I had to learn how to patch and repair our subfloors. Before you begin to think that I have a clue… let me stop you. Here’s the deal with most of these big projects. You don’t know what you’re getting into until you’re there. Hence this subfloor 101. (Video of the process at the end of the post!)
