It’s 9:30 p.m. and I kind of want to go sit in my shed. In fact… I want to invite everyone over to come and SIT IN MY SHED! I’m kindasorta obsessed. And it’s not even finished!!! I left you last week and the walls were painted. The amazing lights were installed. But aside from a few projects completed, the shed was very much in disarray. But not this week, folks! This week, it’s taking shape!
So…. a real 7-day week just went by, huh? Like a legit 7 days? Craaaaaaap. I’ll tell you this much. It gets worse before it gets better and I have a plan in my head. That will be my mantra… and fingers crossed I can pull this shed makeover off! This week was the paddling under the surface phase of the makeover. Which is a metaphor for I have nothing pretty to show you. Although I’m lying a little bit… the centerpiece of this makeover DID happen last week: PAINT! My painters came… they applied 3 coats of primer and they conquered. I am SO glad I decided to hire this one out. Time is money and I would have had to pay myself a jillion dollars to pull this one off.
I’m pleased to announce that today’s “Before” picture might just be the worst I’ve ever shared here on the blog. There have certainly been others, but this is pretty bad. However… it’s also the honest reality of where this project is starting! Like I took these pictures on MONDAY. (The One Room Challenge is a 6 month project, right? Kidding… I know the drill.)
There’s no way to do this briefly so grab a cup of coffee… this is going to be a whopper. First of all, thanks to Linda from Calling it Home for the motivation and thanks to ALL OF YOU for being such wonderful cheerleaders throughout the last 6 weeks. SUCH fun! Just to remind you where this all started… May I submit Exhibit A. We moved into this house last April, and the formal dining room had become a dumping ground for everything from craft projects to dog food to extra furniture. Not good.
